I received this email from Project Payday today:
Hello ,
Great news! We have been working on a solution to allow you to transfer your credibility in the FLR forums to another forum to which Project Payday members are being referred.
We are happy to announce that in partnership with Anything4Free, we have been able to obtain the following for you:
- Project Payday Mentor Status Badge – If you log into your Project Payday account, then click on this link, you will be able to enter your Anything4Free forums member ID number.
On May 26th, we will pass that on to the A4F forums owner who has graciously agreed to assign a special Project Payday Mentor Status badge to your A4F account. This will give you credibility with those you wish to trade with showing that although you may not have achieved a high rating at A4F, it will indicate that you have lots of experience helping Project Payday members at other forums.
- 50% Discount on Premium Membership – An A4F Premium membership provides many benefits, but one very special benefit that you will receive as a Project Payday mentor is that you will instantly be given unrestricted access to trading including creating threads to coach newer members in the “Beginner’s Trading Post.”
If you have already upgraded, you can extend your membership at the 50% discounted price. Simply click here to upgrade or extend your existing Premium membership.
We realize that it has taken time to establish your credibility at the FLR forums, but through the two options listed above, we believe this can not only help you transfer most of that credibility to the A4F forums, but also start sending a flow of new Project Payday members to you with whom you can perform trades.
Sincerely,
The Project Payday Team
If this is true, then it is great news for those of us who were Project Payday Mentors at FLR before PPD and FLR parted ways. I am not sure what this means over at A4F, and I don’t know that I am inclined to use that forum, even if it does mean the PPD referral system will start up again, just because of the level of childishness that goes on over there.
I still trade at FLR, and will always trade there, and I am a member at The Freebie Exchange, and CaliStyle101 as well, so what A4F does or does not do matters very little to me in the big scheme of things. This is a positive step for Project Payday to take, however, to help out its long time members.
Update: May 26, 2009
The admins of Anything4free.com have been silent on the implementation of a Project Payday mentorship program and Project Payday’s Mentorship page has reverted to the old and outdated information regarding mentorship on FLR.
Given that A4F is not exactly friendly with the Project Payday concept; they’re all hobbyists over there (yeah, right!) I am reasonably certain that any partnership with Project Payday in any concrete way won’t happen.
