Affiliate Marketers Who Live In Glass Houses

Last weekend I was thinking about putting up some review sites to beef up my affiliate campaigns and, in doing my research on how to structure my sites correctly,  I ran across this article by someone named Penny Marshall.

Basically, the article quotes some other guy’s article about how Google recently dropped the quality scores  for Adwords on affiliate review sites across the board and offers some advice on how to counter the Google slap.

Genuine Work From Home Jobs: Are mTurk & ChaCha Worth The Time?

Amazon Mechanical Turk, or mturk and Cha Cha are two companies that provide genuine work from home jobs. However,  you are not an employee of either company,  rather you are an independent contractor hired to do specific tasks.  For this reason, neither Amazon nor Cha Cha provide any benefits and you are responsible for reporting any income earned from them on your taxes.

Amazon Mechanical Turk (mTurk)

Amazon Mechanical Turk allows companies to post “tasks” that humans can do better than machines. They call these “Human Intelligence Tasks” or “HITs” For example, identifying a certain object or person in a video, transcription work, and research.

Are All MLMs Inherently Scams???

There is almost no dirtier word than “multi-level marketing,” or MLM,  in the work at home sphere.  When you hear or see the word, MLM,  impressions of pyramid schemes immediately come to mind. In fact, people often view MLM as synonymous with “pyramid scheme.”

While it is true that some MLMs are pyramid  schemes,  not all of them are,  and conflating the two is, in fact, erroneous. Before going any further into this, it might be useful to define some terms:

How To “Sell” Without Selling

Why do you search the internet? I would hazard a guess that you are searching for information on a particular topic of interest to you. In fact, that is why most people search the internet; for information on something they’re already interested in.

What Is Quality Content?

Craigslist Spammer: Watch Out!

My husband and I are planning to move back to Winnipeg,  Manitoba, where he’s  from originally because the job market for him is dismal here in California.  We’re planning to move some time next Spring.

Well, in his own job searching, he finds this ad on Craigslist: Web Blogger/Article Writer and he sends it to me.  Since blogging and article writing are what I do, I respond to this, thinking I might be able to do the work from here and it will be another income source….can’t have too many of those, right?

The first response I got was this email:

“Offer Fraud:” Does It Really Exist?

Incentivized freebie websites (IFWs) operate by running advertisements (offers) for different products and services.  Some offers are completely free to try and others might have you pay shipping and handling.  Still others are a “get your money back if you don’t like it” type of deal.

Whatever the case, the company who puts out the offer is doing so for the purpose of gaining new customers. The company hopes that people will try their product or service and like it so much that they’ll keep it and move on to be full paying customers.

Affiliate Marketing: How To Make A Re-direct Link

Here’s a simple trick that will increase your conversions and that will open up more marketing options for you as an affiliate marketer.

To make this work, you will need:

  1. A web hosting account. (You can sign up for cheap web hosting here.)
  2. NotePad, or a similar text editing program.
  3. Enough html knowledge to be able to copy and edit a snippet of code.

What you will be doing is creating a web page on your own domain that will re-direct your visitors to your merchant’s website. Doing is confers upon you several advantages, namely:
