Here’s a simple trick that will increase your conversions and that will open up more marketing options for you as an affiliate marketer.
To make this work, you will need:
- A web hosting account. (You can sign up for cheap web hosting here.)
- NotePad, or a similar text editing program.
- Enough html knowledge to be able to copy and edit a snippet of code.
What you will be doing is creating a web page on your own domain that will re-direct your visitors to your merchant’s website. Doing is confers upon you several advantages, namely:
- Cheaper Adwords campaigns. If you were direct-linking to your merchant’s site before, you were having to outbid all of the other affiliates who were also direct-linking for the same keywords to have your ad appear. By re-directing from your own domain, you won’t be competing with other affiliates for keywords on your merchant’s domain, and therefore, your adspend will decrease.
- The ability to promote your merchant’s product through your resource box at Ezinearticles.com. Currently, Ezinearticles does not allow direct affiliate links to be used at all. Ezinearticles DOES allow affiliate links that are re-directed from the top level of a domain that you own and control.
- Prevention of sales losses. Sometimes, people are browsing the web at work, and they might come across a product they like, so they’ll jot down the website name for future reference. When they get home, they’ll type in the domain name, and if the link that got them there is an affiliate link, that affiliate lost the sale, because the person is making the purchase from the merchant’s site sans the affiliate ID. If you have your own domain, it will always re-direct to your merchant’s site using your affiliate ID, so you won’t lose any sales.
Ok, so here’s the code:
<html>
<head>
<title>WEBPAGE TITLE GOES HERE</title>
</head>
<frameset border=”0″>
<frame src=”AFFILIATE LINK GOES HERE” frameborder=”no”>
<noframes>
Sorry, it appears you are using a Web browser thatdoes not support frames.
</noframes>
</frameset>
</html>
Simply copy and paste the above code into a notepad document and edit it to add your affiliate link as indicated. Change the title as well, as indicated, and then save your document as “index.html.” Upload the index.html document to your web space, and voila, you have a web page you can use in all your promotions.
