With unemployment shooting through the roof, there has never been a better time to consider running your own internet business. 1: Be your own boss

If you’ve ever had to deal with a nasty boss, then you’ll love working for yourself. You won’t have to answer to anyone or have anyone breathing down your neck, micromanaging everything that you do.

Not all bosses or supervisors are nasty, but the when you get one that is, life at work can certainly be hell. Working for yourself, there’s no risk of running into one of the nasty specimens of management.

2: Set your own hours

Are you a night owl? Do you cringe at the light of morning? Working for yourself, you can choose when you work. You can truly work in your pajamas at 1 AM, if you so chose.

There are no set times where you need to be somewhere or have to have something done by. However, you should set your own goals and deadlines if you want to be productive.

3: Save gas

Working online will save you on gas, and no fighting traffic and getting your blood pressure boiling on a daily basis, either.

If you have ever had a daily commute that is longer than 30 minutes, then you know what a blessing it is not to have to do that anymore. I spent more than 5 years having to commute over an hour one way to work, and I hated it. I used to be a person who loved to drive. I don’t really like driving all that much anymore due to my commuting days.

4: No office politics

Dealing with office politics can be a drag. You can relax knowing that you don’t have to worry whether your cubicle-mate can be trusted or whether they’re planning to sell you down the river to get that coveted promotion.

I must say that working in an office is a lot like high school. Too much like high school, as a matter of fact, and I didn’t like high school at all. There are cliques, very much like you had back in high school. If you find yourself not fitting in to any of the cliques present, you will have a hard time advancing and your time in the office will be even more miserable than it would otherwise be.

At home, there are no cliques, but also very little outside social interaction. If you are a social person, you’ll need to find other outlets to socialize. The social networks are great for this and will also help you grow your business.

5: Reaping all the rewards of the fruits of your labor

Generally, when you work for someone else, you are getting paid a certain amount to perform some task. That task advances your boss and benefits him financially. When you are the owner of your own business, your labor makes you, and only you money.

There is no question that times are tough and that more and more people are losing their jobs every day. This makes this a great time to find that entrepenurial spirit in you and get creative
