Sorry about the misleading title, but, no, this article is not about how pay-per-click advertising is easy nor is it about selling you some program for $19.95 to show you how easy it is. Sure, I can do that, but I’d be the only one making money, not you.

Now, don’t get me wrong. PPC is effective, but it is NOT easy. You can easily lose your shirt if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ll give you an example from my own personal experience to illustrate how devastating it can be to make mistakes with PPC.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Affiliate marketing is an extremely popular and effective method for earning money online. It is widely used by merchants, both big and small, to decrease their advertising budget and to make more sales. How does affiliate marketing work? Well, the merchant aggregates out its advertising to others, called affiliates, and will pay each affiliate a percentage of the sales price, also known as a commission, for every sale made through that affiliate’s marketing efforts.

Internet Marketers: Why Do You Hide Your Intentions?

Ok, fellow IMers, why do you go to such lengths to conceal the fact that you’re running a for profit business? Why do you wax on and on about “valuable content” as a means to end in and of itself?

Face it, you provide content to get people to your site, where you hope that they will click on your affiliate links and buy what you’re selling.  Last time I checked, there was nothing wrong with this. You are providing content that people are interested in, and along with that some services or products that they would probably be interested in as well.

Dear Email Marketers & List Builders

I’ve joined a number of Internet marketing type mailing lists over the years, usually in exchange for some free information or access to a free program, and in that time I’ve made the following observations:

1: The more emails I receive from you, the less likely I am to pay any attention to them at all. There are some marketers who feel the need to email me offers or even information on a daily basis. These, I insta-delete because I see this is as an abuse of the privilege that I have granted you in sharing my email address with you.

How To Make Money By Giving Away Free Stuff

Everyone is strapped for cash these days and that can make it a little tough for affiliate marketers to make money.  However, there are ways that you can make money by giving away free stuff.

There is a type of affiliate marketing out there known as cost per action, or CPA affiliate marketing.  In this type of affiliate marketing, you are not actually required to make a sale in order to get paid.  The way this type of affiliate program works is that you are paid for certain actions that occur as a result of your advertising efforts. You can be paid for someone simply inputting their email address in a form. You can be paid for someone signing up for a free trial of a product.  This  compensation model is known as pay-per-lead, since you are paid for every prospect you generate rather than paying customer.

What The New FTC Guidelines Mean For Bloggers & Affiliates

If you’re a blogger, particularly one who runs a blog as a means to market products and services as an affiliate, you’ve no doubt heard about the new FTC guidelines that went into effect on December 1, 2009.  From the posts I’ve seen on the Warrior Forum and elsewhere, everyone is going nuts about this. Everyone is running around like a chicken with its head cut off wondering what this means, how to comply, and whether compliance will end up hurting the bottom line.
