Targeted Internet Advertising: Know Your Market
January 27th, 2010
Kmcgraw There is a discussion going on at the Warrior Forum over the past day or two about why marketers are including swear words or the acronyms for swear words, like WTF and BS in their articles, sales pages, etc. A lot of the older Warriors, including the person who posted the topic seemed to think that any swearing, even the use of an acronym like WTF is unprofessional and uncalled for. Other members were quick to respond that whether or not it is acceptable to use swear words or swear word acronyms depends on who you are marketing to. Which brings me to the point of this blog entry: targeted internet advertising.

Kmcgraw Sorry about the misleading title, but, no, this article is not about how pay-per-click advertising is easy nor is it about selling you some program for $19.95 to show you how easy it is. Sure, I can do that, but I’d be the only one making money, not you.
Now, don’t get me wrong. PPC is effective, but it is NOT easy. You can easily lose your shirt if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ll give you an example from my own personal experience to illustrate how devastating it can be to make mistakes with PPC.

Kmcgraw Affiliate marketing is an extremely popular and effective method for earning money online. It is widely used by merchants, both big and small, to decrease their advertising budget and to make more sales. How does affiliate marketing work? Internet Marketers: Why Do You Hide Your Intentions?
December 17th, 2009
Kmcgraw Ok, fellow IMers, why do you go to such lengths to conceal the fact that you’re running a for profit business? Why do you wax on and on about “valuable content” as a means to end in and of itself?
Face it, you provide content to get people to your site, where you hope that they will click on your affiliate links and buy what you’re selling. Last time I checked, there was nothing wrong with this. You are providing content that people are interested in, and along with that some services or products that they would probably be interested in as well.
